Nanette Bowling
Nanette "Nan" Bowling, 79, Celina, died Dec. 25, 2013, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys, following a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 13, 1934, in St. Marys, the daughter of Thomas and Gertrude (Ruffing) White Jr. On Aug. 24, 1957, she married Dr. John F. Bowling, who survives at the residence.
Also surviving are eight children, Daniel (Sherri) Bowling, Cincinnati; Frederick (Deb) Bowling, Cincinnati; David (Shelley) Bowling, Cincinnati; Gregory Bowling, Hamilton; Thomas (Patti) Bowling, Cincinnati; Joan (Ted) Binzer, Centerville; Anne (Mike) Henkle, Wooster; and Susan Bowling, Cincinnati; 15 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; siblings, Joan (Larry) Fortman, Charlotte, N.C., and Kathy (Tom) Ansley, Springfield; a sister-in-law, Mary Durbin, Highland, Ill.; brothers-in-law, Don (Mary Beth) Bowling, Indianapolis, Ind., and Dick (Penny) Bowling, Indianapolis; and a sister-in-law, Jane Gariety, Knoxville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Thomas White III; and a sister-in-law, Anne Rick.
She was a 1952 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, and a 1956 graduate of Mount Saint Joseph College, Cincinnati, with a bachelor of science in nursing. She was a nurse at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, St. Marys. Her passion in life was her family. She and her husband loved spending time with their children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed flower gardening, traveling and golfing. She will be remembered as a very kind person who was a joy to be around. She was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, the Rev. Barry Stechschulte officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Miller Funeral Home, West Chapel, St. Marys, where a rosary service will be held at 8 p.m.
Memorial gifts may be given to the Friends of Holy Rosary or for Mass intentions at Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
