Jean Liesner
Jean Liesner, 63, Chickasaw, died at 10 a.m. Dec. 26, 2013, at her home.
She was born Feb. 18, 1950, in St. Sebastian, to Richard and Imelda (Schoenherr) Heckman. On Oct. 14, 1972, in St. Sebastian, she married Frank Liesner, who survives in Chickasaw.
Also surviving are a daughter, Kristina Poff, St. Marys; a son, Michael (Anisha) Liesner, Columbus; grandchildren, Braeden Liesner and Morgan Poff; brothers and sisters, Werner (Elaine) Heckman, Maria Stein, Mary Ann (Vern) Bohman, Russia, Karen (Roger) Evers, Celina, Jan (Jeff) Gottschalk, Minster, and Paul (Annette) Heckman, Maria Stein; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie (Gary) Garrison.
Deceased is a brother, Tom Heckman.
She was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, Chickasaw, and its Ladies Sodality and Mercer County Right to Life, and she was a CCD teacher. She did medical research and fundraising for LAM.Foundation and medical research for the National Institutes of Health. She worked at Spoltman's Hardware and Chickasaw Post Office. She was studying interior design before her illness. She loved her grandchildren, reading, making blankets, taking her grandson on golf cart rides and socializing.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Precious Blood Catholic Church, the Rev. Tom Brenberger officiating. Burial is at Precious Blood Cemetery.
Calling is 1-5 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
