Patsy Abel
Patsy Springer Abel, 84, Lakeland, Fla., passed away peacefully on Jan. 16, 2014, due to heart failure.
She was born May 18, 1929, in Toledo, to Ralph and Hazel Birt.
Survivors are her daughters, Susan (John) Wiegert, Polly Ann (John) McConnell, Kandi (Art) Fulmer; son, Burton (Diane) Springer; seven grandchildren, Nicole McConnell (Alec) Monies, Carson Fulmer, Rob (Kimbra) Wiegert, Andy Springer, Michael Springer, Kimberly (Mark) McLaughlin and Heather Wiegert; six great-grandchildren, Ashley Wiegert, John and Matt Wiegert, Madison and Drew Springer and Tyler Larkins; one great-great-grandchild, Charity Hornbuckle; special friends, Sharon and Ernest Bowen of Lakeland; and lifelong friends, Virginia and Dwight Bair of Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Burton W. Springer; second husband, Donald Abel; great-granddaughter, Gabriella Wiegert; grandson, Shannon Wiegert; and sister, Madlyn Bilter, Celina.
She was a member of Grove Park Christian Church/Legacy Christian Church of Lakeland. She was a homemaker and when she and her husband, Burton W. Springer, became empty nesters, she began a career at K-Mart in the jewelry department.
A gathering of family and friends will be 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, Lakeland. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at Lakeland Memorial Gardens.
