Raymond Vore, 85, Ridgeville, Ind., passed away May 3, 2014, at his home.

He was born Nov. 7, 1928, in Warren, Ind., in Blackford County, to Lloyd and Susie (Nibarger) Vore. In 1949, he married Marie Stockton, who died in 2011.

Survivors include three sons, Stephen Vore, (friend, Joan Goff), Fort Recovery, David (Julie) Vore, Ridgeville, Jeff Vore, Ridgeville; three daughters, Janie Sheffer (friend, Charles Puckett), Gaston, Ind., Diana (David) Edwards, Ridgeville, and Sherri (John) Daniel, Parker City, Ind.; a sister, Grace Shreeve, Bryant, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He farmed in Jay County, Ind., and drove for Casters Trucking. He also worked at Vore's Welding and Steel in Fort Recovery and Redkey Sawmill.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, Portland, the Rev. Jonathan Edwards will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, north of Muncie, Ind.
