Berniece Baker
Berniece Baker, 102, Celina, died at 4:30 a.m. June 1, 2014, at The Miller House in Celina.
She was born Aug. 26, 1911, in Liberty Township, Mercer County, to Ernest and Elmira Adams Baucher. On Sept. 23, 1933, she married Chalmer Baker, who died April 12, 1987.
Surviving are a son, C. Duane (Patricia Ann) Baker, Springfield; grandchildren, Suzanne and Richard Antonaros St. Louis, Mo.; great-grandchildren, Isabelle, AvaMarie and Vivianna; a nephew, Don (Martha) Skinner; and a niece, Berniece Ann Skinner.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Leoral Skinner and Norma Slusser.
She was a retired homemaker and member of St. John Lutheran Church, Celina. She loved playing cards at the Mercer County Council on Aging, where she also played bingo and worked at the garage sales. She was a member of the Mercer County Council on Aging and Celina Women of the Moose.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Douglas Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Mercer Memory Gardens.
Calling is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the St. John Lutheran Church bell tower fund.
