Catherine Hemmelgarn
Catherine M. "Cathy" Hemmelgarn, 62, Fort Recovery, died Sept. 27, 2014, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
She was born Jan. 5, 1952, in Celina, to Edward Unrast and Marietta Arling Unrast. On Oct. 12, 1972, in Maria Stein, she married Roger Hemmelgarn, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Rick (Stacy) Hemmelgarn, New Weston, Ron Hemmelgarn, Fort Recovery, Ryan (Tasha) Hemmelgarn, New Madison, and Randy Hemmelgarn, Fort Recovery; a daughter, Amanda (Ron) Bowers Jr., Rossburg; two sisters, Agnes McDonald, Beaverton, Mich., and Doris (Mike) Henry, Maria Stein; two brothers, Al (Carol) Unrast, Osgood, and Dave (Nancy) Unrast, Maria Stein; 12 grandchildren; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Henry) Reier, Maria Stein, Stanley (Sharon) Hemmelgarn, Ansonia, Les (Betty) Hemmelgarn, St. Henry, Nancy (Dan) Hart, Celina, Ginny (Roger) Thornton, Uniopolis, and Pam (Doug) Westgerdes, St. Joe.
Deceased is a brother, Louie Unrast.
She was a 1970 graduate of Marion Local High School and was employed at Priority Plastics, Portland, Ind. She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, and the church's Altar Rosary Sodality. She also was a former choir member and lay distributor for the church. She enjoyed camping and sitting by the campfire as well as nightly walks and reading.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
