Evelyn Stuck
Evelyn L. Shiverdecker Stuck, 90, Versailles, passed away at home on Sept. 26, 2014, after a short illness.
She was born Dec. 20, 1923, in Ansonia, to Roy and Celia Armstrong Shiverdecker. On July 4, 1947, she married Harold Stuck, who died May 2011.
Surviving are three daughters, Marlene McGriff, Greenville, Shirley (Donald) Kingery, Carlsbad, Calif., and Jeanette Taylor, Carlsbad, Calif.; a son, Carl (Donna) Stuck, Versailles; one brother, Kenneth Shiverdecker, Greenville; nine grandchildren, Denise (Shawn) Fourman, Nathan (Leanna Coby) McGriff, Laura McGriff, Shannon (Dan) Bentley, Taylor (Joanne) Stuck, Bethany Griesdorn, Amanda (Chris Stark) Griesdorn, Todd (Kristy) Kingery, and Chad (Cathleen) Kingery; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Also deceased are a brother, Richard (Margaret) Shiverdecker, Greenville; a sister, Wilma (Paul) Routson, Covington; and a sister-in-law Janet Shiverdecker, Greenville.
She was a 1942 graduate of Ansonia High School. After graduating she was employed in Piqua, until she got married. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church near North Star, where she taught Sunday school for 20 years and was an active member of the Women of the Church. She also was a member of North Star Legion Auxiliary Post 174 for 42 years.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, North Star, Pastor Laura Shreffler officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home, Greenville, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church.
