Shirley Seger
Shirley A. Seger, 76, formerly of Fort Loramie, died Nov. 24, 2014, at Elmwood of New Bremen, where she had been a resident for three years.
She was born Nov. 27, 1937, in Minster, to Charles and Henrietta Schwartz Wente. On Nov. 22, 1956, in New Bremen, she was married Walter W. Seger, who died Sept. 24, 2003.
Surviving are five children, Brenda (Jack) Hoying, Fort Loramie, Tony (Pam) Seger, Liberty Township, Steve (Karen) Seger, Houston, Gail (Randy) Wendel, Osgood, and Aaron (Missy) Seger, Russia; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six siblings, Janice (Dick) Ahrns, Minster, Marilyn Winner, Osgood, Tom (Joyce) Wente, Minster, Denny (Leah) Wente, New Bremen, Connie Will, New Bremen, and Ted (Ann) Wente, Monroe, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Bertie Wente; and Seger in-laws, Vera Schwartz, Fort Loramie, Velma (Jack) Friemering, Celina, and Evelyn Seger, Fort Loramie.
Deceased are two siblings, Dolores Bentz and Robert Wente; two brothers-in-law, Dennis Winner and Mike Will; and the Seger in-laws, Rita (Tom) Zavislan, Cy Seger and Tom Schwartz.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie; the American Legion Auxilary, Fort Loramie; Minster F.O.E. 1391; and the Sidney Community Action Commission.
She also was an area real estate agent and a retired Fort Loramie School bus driver.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, the Rev. Steven Shoup officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
