Thomas Dunwoody
Thomas Jefferson Dunwoody, 74, Peru, Ind., passed away at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 9, 2014, at St. Vincent's Seton Specialty Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind.
He was born May 12, 1940, in Huntington, Ind., to Carl and Lucile Morrison Dunwoody. On June 8, 1963, in Winchester, Ind., he married Mary Kay Manrose, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jefferson C. (Jana) Dunwoody, Indianapolis, Ind., Timothy C. (Lorri) Dunwoody, Indianapolis, Ind., and Charles T. (Kara) Dunwoody, Caledonia, Mich.; a daughter, Joslyn Kuykendall, Conway, Ark.; 11 grandchildren, J.T. Jumonville, Jenna Ione Gass, Stacey Fields, Brandy Maddox, Denise Kline, Tommy Dunwoody, Reuben Jacobs, Aaron Jacobs, Nathan Jacobs, Jacob Forrest Dunwoody and Kaylee Rian Dunwoody; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Alice Lamon, Montpelier, Ind.
He graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in architectural engineering. He was employed as an architect at Fanning Howey Associates until he retired in 1996. He volunteered his time with the Boy Scouts of America earning the Silver Beaver Award.
He was past president of the International Circus Hall of Fame and presently the executive director and curator of the Museum of the Circus Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Circus Fans Association of America, the Circus Model Builders and the Circus Historical Society.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, Peru, Ind., Pastor Doug Givan officiating.
Calling is noon-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the International Circus Hall of Fame.
