Rebecca McDaniel
Rebecca A. "Anne" McDaniel, 83, Fort Recovery, died Dec. 13, 2014, at Brethren Retirement Community, Greenville.
She was born July 6, 1931, in Logan, to Charles and Emma Johnson Brush. On Sept. 4, 1954, she married Paul E. McDaniel, who survives in Fort Wayne.
Also surviving are three sons, Paul M. McDaniel, Buckland, Mark McDaniel, Troy, and David (Nancy) McDaniel, Miamisburg; a daughter, Amanda McDaniel, Urbana; seven grandchildren, Robert, Scott, Geoffrey, Morgan, Lindsay, Tyler and Jake; two great-grandchildren, Tristan and Katherine; and in-laws, Catherine (Jim) Kobel, West Lafayette, and Roger McDaniel, Nelsonville.
She was a graduate of Nelsonville High School, Nelsonville, and received bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Wright State University, Dayton. She was retired as a school teacher at Marion Local Schools, Maria Stein.
She served as president of the Fort Recovery Historical Society and the Fort Recovery Band Boosters, and was a member of the Athens County, Ohio, First Family. She enjoyed reading, traveling and family genealogy.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, the Rev. David Gordon officiating. Burial will follow at Green Mound Cemetery, Fort Recovery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.
