David Heitkamp
David N. "Quack" Heitkamp, 51, St. Henry, died Jan. 31, 2015, at his home.
He was born Nov. 7, 1963, in Coldwater, to Paul and Stella Kremer Heitkamp, who survive in St. Henry. On Aug. 8, 1987, in Two Rivers, Wis., he married Paula Kubsh, who also survives in St. Henry.
Also surviving are four children, Christine (Chris) Van Iderstine, Minster, Chandra (Michael) Niekamp, St. Henry, Brooke Heitkamp, St. Henry, and Donald Heitkamp, St. Henry; two grandchildren, Hali Van Iderstine and Lane Niekamp; three brothers, Dennis (Joan) Heitkamp, Fort Recovery, Dale (Mary Ann) Heitkamp, St. Henry, and Duane (Judy) Heitkamp, St. Henry; a mother-in-law, Terese Kubsh, Two Rivers; and in laws, Judy Heitkamp, New Bremen, Cheryl (Tom) Peltier, Spokane, Wash., David (Lynn) Kubsh, Two Rivers, and Dan Kubsh, Green Bay, Wis.
Deceased are a brother, Donald Heitkamp, and a father-in-law, Quiren Kubsh.
He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, and the American Legion. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force and worked at Crown Equipment Corp., New Bremen.
He was an avid bow hunter who loved to work in the garden, fish, trap and hang out in "The Barn." He was an amazing husband, dad, grandpa and a friend to all.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, the Rev. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at St. Henry Cemetery.
Callings is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
