Marie Laux
Marie A. Laux, age 83, of Celina, passed away at 1:19 P.M. Saturday, May 16, 2015 at Celina Manor Nursing Home.
Born Feb. 18, 1932 in Mercer County, a daughter of the late Robert L. & Eva A. Hill Hole. Marie married Kenneth B. "Kenny" Laux on Oct. 6, 1951, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2014.
Surviving are their 8 Children: Randy (Denise) Laux, Ted (Denise) Laux, Jayne (Paul) Johnsman, Malissa (Rob) Homan, Nick (Myra) Laux, Todd (DeAnn) Laux and Theresa (Chris) Wurster, all of Celina, and Laura (Dave) Emonin II of Dayton, 24 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 2 Brothers: Frank (Barbara) Hole of Ft. Wayne and Dave (Deb) Hole of Celina, a Sister-in-law, Wanda Hole of St. Marys, a Brother-in-law, Norman Tidwell of New Bremen, and numerous Nieces & Nephews.
Preceding her in death were 7 Brothers & Sisters: Robert Jr. "Bud" (Regina) Hole, Merrill (Jennie) Hole, Lloyd Hole, Dennis Hole, Althea (Gene) Staugler, Mary Alice (Ken) Reid and Margie Tidwell; and her Husband's 12 Brothers & Sisters: Cyril (Toots) Laux, Harold Laux, Carl (Helen) Laux, Herb (Bernadette) Laux, Alphonse (Gladys) Laux, Paul (Ruth) Laux, Ruth (Clarence) Puthoff, Mary (Jim) Schuck, Vivian (Don) Reed, Inez (Fred) Uetrecht, and Joann & Margaret Laux.
A homemaker, Marie had also worked doing food preparation at Pullman Bay Restaurant in Celina, as well as other area restaurants. She was a 1950 Graduate of Celina High School and a member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Celina.
Marie was very involved with her family, loved to cook and bake, and was known for her pies and sweet rolls. She also enjoyed gardening and canning.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, May 20, at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, with Father Ken Alt, C.PP.S., presiding. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling Hours are from 2-4:00 & 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, May 19 and 9:15-10:15 A.M. on Wednesday, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
