Patty Lighthill
Patty Jean (High) Lighthill, born in Ohio City June 3, 1931, died in Zepherhills, FL, May 20, 2015, in a beautiful hospice center not far from where she lived the last 6 years in Wesley Chapel.
Patty married Joseph F. Lighthill in 1950, becoming a harness horseman's wife, eventually crisscrossing the country following the racing circuit.
Along the way she had 3 children, who survive her: Linda Jo (her partner, Deborah Keegan), Peggy Jean (her husband, Darrell Darrow), and Joseph C. Lighthill; along with 2 grandchildren, Joseph J and Joshua S (his wife, Rachel) Lighthill; and 2 great grandchildren, Korbin and Anistyn Lighthill. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Amweg; sister-in-law, Dorothy High; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Pat eventually moved back to her home state of Ohio, settling in Celina, where she worked at the Huffy bicycle factory for 15 years. She became an active member of Celina First Church of God.
Her creativity and artistic abilities also kept her busy as she participated in many local arts & crafts shows from Ottawa to Dayton. Her fun lawn geese outfits were quite the rage in Celina for several years.
In failing health, Pat moved to Wesley Chapel to live with her caring son, Joe. Her stubborn nature caused her pulmonary doctor to say she lived longer than any Stage 4 COPD patient he ever had. She eventually succumbed to the terrible disease and passed away peacefully into the presence of Jesus, where she has once again been made healthy and whole.
Arrangements were handled by Coastal Cremations Inc., Zephyrhills, FL.
