Loraine Yeater
Loraine Louise Yeater age 83 of St. Marys, OH, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11:28 P.M. at the Otterbein of St. Marys following a battle with cancer.
She was born on June 16, 1931 in Lumberport, WV to the late W.R. "Ted" and Hattie (Lindsey) Hutson, Sr.
Loraine is survived by her two children Robert (Sue) Yeater, Jr., and Brenda (Robert) Klein all of St. Marys, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and her four siblings Ruth Cottrell of Fairmont, WV, Ted Hutson, Jr. of Fletcher, OH, Frank (Judy) Hutson of New Bremen, and Robert "Rusty" (Shirley) Hutson, Sr. of Lumberport, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Yeater, Sr., a grandson Michael Yeater, and her companion Al Almedia.
Loraine embodied a life of strength, dedication, and commitment. She worked for the Val Decker Meat Packing Plant in Piqua, OH for many years, and held a part-time position at the Piqua Paper Box Company of Piqua, OH until retirement.
In addition to being a devoted worker and homemaker, Loraine enjoyed sewing/crafting, reading, and cooking something delicious for times with her family and friends. Her love for being near the lake made her fishing and camping hobbies memorable.
She always carried a song in her step and was known by many for her yodeling, singing voice, and guitar playing talents. Always willing to offer advice and comfort, Loraine inspired those who knew her and created a space in the hearts of those who loved her. She was a blessing to the lives of many, and a Christian by faith.
A private graveside service for close family members will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen with the Rev. Ed Bray officiating.
A special thank you goes to the staff in the Memory Support Unit at the Otterbein of St. Marys for their caring, compassionate hearts, and dedicated service to Loraine.
Friends and family may offer their condolences to the Yeater family through the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, by visiting www.gilbergharwigfh.com.
