Snow showers associated with an arctic front are moving through this morning, providing a quick accumulation of snowfall. With wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph, the snow showers combined with blowing snow are reducing visibility and creating challenging travel conditions. These conditions are most impactful on roads that are more rural and are aligned from north to south. Even after the snow ends, elevated winds will continue to blow snow into the early afternoon.
Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

Merinus Puthoff
Merinus B. Puthoff age 78, of Maria Stein passed away at 8:00 AM on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at his home in Maria Stein.
He was born on July 28, 1937 in Maria Stein Ohio to the late Anthony & Frances (Leugers) Puthoff. He married Alice J. Goecke on April 20, 1963 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein. She survives in Maria Stein.
He is also survived by five children, Retired Colonel Frederick A. & Hyesuk Puthoff, Manassas, VA, Mark & Theresa Puthoff, Coldwater, Thomas & Rhonda Puthoff, Maria Stein, Ann & Douglas Horvath, Brookville, Jill & Doyle Hicks, Lewis Center, 9 grandchildren: Christine, Amanda & Trevor Wenning, Victoria, Madison, Mitchell, Caitlin, Jared, Casey Ann & Sierra, sister-in-law, Agnes Puthoff, St. Henry, in-laws: James & Marge Goecke, Brownsburg, IN, Daniel & Shirley Goecke, Centerville, Linda Rabold, Centerville.
He was preceded in death by brothers & sisters: Henry & Evelyn, Raymond, Norbert & Esther, Richard, Othmer, Harlene Fortman, Pauline & Cyril Link & Eleanore & Wilfred Fortman, in-law John Rabold.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, the Men's Sodality of the Church and of the Knights of St. John, Maria Stein. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the American Legion Post #571.
He was a farmer and owned and operated his own plumbing business and enjoyed fishing.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-Minster on Thursday, May 5, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Friday, May 6 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
