Grace Cully
Grace Esther Luhn Cully, 67, of Coldwater, Ohio passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at her summer home in Gallatin Gateway, Montana.
Grace was born November 18, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Horace and Elizabeth (Nash) Luhn.
She graduated from San Luis Rey Academy in California before attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. It was here that she met the love of her life, Ted Cully. Ted and Grace were married June 19, 1971 in Mission San Luis Rey de Francia, California. They had three daughters, Mandy, Jolene, and Deanna.
She worked as a secretary and dispatcher for Schroyer Trucking in Celina, Ohio and loved her job as librarian for Coldwater Exempted Village Schools, where Ted taught science and she could keep a close eye on her daughters.
Grace was very active in her community, as an aide at Coldwater Public Library, and was a member of the Folk Group, Resurrection Choir, and was a cantor for Holy Trinity Church in Coldwater. She also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity Caravaners.
She was extremely talented and had many hobbies, including singing, woodworking, home reconstruction/remodeling, and quilting. She loved the outdoors, particularly camping, birdwatching, flower gardening, and horseback riding. In addition to traveling with Ted, she thoroughly enjoyed making memories with her children, grandchildren, and many friends.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Ted; daughters, Mandy (Nathan) Niekamp of New Bremen, Jolene (Adam) Hanna of Loveland, and Deanna Cully of Portland, Oregon; four grandchildren, Kathryn, Joshua, and Vivian Niekamp, and Lincoln Hanna; and her sister, Judy Sneed, of Shreveport, Louisiana.
Her sense of humor and joy in life was superb. She will be deeply missed, but we know she is now singing with a choir of angels.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
