Patricia Bergman
Patricia "Pat" (Scully) Bergman, age 85, passed away after an extended illness on Sunday, September 18th, 2016 at her home in Fort Loramie, in the presence of her immediate family.
Pat was born on July 29, 1931 in Lima Ohio, to the late Joseph and Mary "Madge" (Shobe) Scully. On February 20, 1954, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney, Pat married Paul V. Bergman who still resides at home in Fort Loramie.
Surviving are four daughters, Terri and Jeff Schlater of Sidney, Vicki and Mark Barhorst of Fort Loramie, Lisa and Don Reed of Fort Loramie, and Jo and Scott Anderson of Celina; 8 grandchildren, Josh Goubeaux (& Marissa), Adam Barhorst (& Erin), Kyle (Emily) Goubeaux, Wesley (Casey) Rethman, Kacie Rethman, Ashley (Nathan) Barhorst, Courtney (Dave) Paul, and Brent Schlater (& Madie); 17½ great-grandchildren; four siblings, Mike Scully of Sidney, Marie & Hank Patterson of Sidney, Paul "Butch" Scully (& Esther) of Troy, and Francie & John O'Leary of Sidney; sisters-in-law, Barbara Scully of Sidney and Ruth Roth of Celina and various nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother John Scully, sister-in-law Sherry Scully, mother and father-in-law John and Clara Bergman, brothers and sisters-in-law Herbert Bergman, Urban & Teckla Bergman, Luella & George Sommer, Lee & Rita Bergman, Lester & Norma Bergman and Ralph Roth.
Pat was a devoted homemaker and was also secretary/book keeper for Bergman Construction. Prior to this she was employed at Monarch Machine Tool in Sidney working in the front office.
Pat was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of the St. Ann's Rosary Altar Society, Fort Loramie American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Fort Loramie Athletic Boosters, Founding member of the Fort Loramie Gym Committee, and an original stock holder and member of Arrowhead Park Golf Club in Minster, Celina Moose member, part of two bridge clubs and was in a Pinochle Card club with a wonderful group of ladies for over 60 years.
Pat enjoyed playing golf, cards, and attending grandchildren's sporting events. Pat enjoyed spending winters in Florida with many of her friends that she made throughout the years and she especially enjoyed shopping with her four girls.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, September 23, 2016, at St. Michael Church in Fort Loramie with the Rev. Steven Shoup as celebrant.
Friends may call on Thursday September 22 from 3 to 8 P.M. and Friday 9 to 10 A.M. at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
