Cleopha Link
Cleopha R. Link, 92, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on September 19, 2016 at The Gardens at St. Henry St. Henry, OH.
She was born October 27, 1923, in Philothea, OH, to the late Joseph and Mary (Osterholt) Homan. On June 7, 1949, she married Aloys Link, who survives.
Also surviving are her ten children, Dennis (Becky) Link of Batavia, OH, Carl (Cindy) Link of Ft. Recovery, OH, Rose (Don) Smith of Cleves, OH, Bill (Nancy) Link of Ft. Recovery, OH, Tom (Sharon) Link of Ft. Recovery, OH, Jerry (Deb) Link of Coldwater, OH, Donna (Wayne) Steineman of New Bremen, OH, Paul (Sharon) Link of Ft. Recovery, OH, Ed (Sharon) Link of Ft. Recovery, OH, and Marie (Mark) Osterholt of Ft. Recovery, OH; 34 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Sally Homan of St. Henry, OH and Lillian Homan of Coldwater, OH; in-laws, Wilma Link of Ft. Recovery, OH, Phyllis Link of Coldwater, OH, Edna Reinhard of Plainfield, IN, Marilyn Fullenkamp of Decatur, IN and Sister Adelaide Link S.F.P. of Cincinnati, OH.
Cleopha was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Preceding her in death are her granddaughter, Natasha Link, her great granddaughter, Keeley Link, her daughter-in-law, Cindy Link, her siblings, Paul (Irene) Homan, Cletus (Viola) Homan, Arnold Homan, Anna (Florence) Evers and Juletta (Linus) Huelskamp; her in-laws, Rudy (Lucille) (Mary) Link, Sister Jean Link S.F.P., Lawrence Link, Gene Reinhard, Gene Fullenkamp and Elmer Link.
Cleopha was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church Sharpsburg, Ohio and the Rosary Altar Sodality. Her faith was very important to her. She was instrumental in forming the C.C.D. program in the parish and was active as a teacher and served as the Religious Education Coordinator for 30 years.
As a member of the Ft. Recovery American Legion Auxiliary #345 and the V.F.W. Auxiliary #6515, she volunteered numerous hours towards many community projects. She also assisted with the bloodmobile, helped children at the Ft. Recovery Elementary School in the reading and math programs, taught the third grade class about the history and how to have respect for the U.S. and State of Ohio flags, and assisted patients at The Neurological Center with their program activities.
Deservingly, Cleopha was awarded the Outstanding Volunteer Award from the Mercer Savings Bank.
Being an avid history fan, Cleopha contributed local information to the Mercer County Historical Book. Some of her favorite past times included reading, writing poetry and sewing. She especially loved visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Friday, September 23, 2016 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, with Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Thursday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Friday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
