John Moeller
John Anthony Moeller, age 73, of St. Henry, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at The Gardens of St. Henry.
He was born on January 7, 1944 in Celina, to the late Wilbert and late Rita (Cron) Moeller. On October 8, 1966 he married the love of his life, Barbara Ann "Barb" Dippold, the daughter of the late Cyril Dippold and Flora (Hemmelgarn) Dippold, Cassella.
He is survived by Barb and their three sons and daughters-in-law; Jay and Christina (Fortkamp) Moeller of Troy, Dean and Sharon (Schmitmeyer) Moeller of Maria Stein, and Brad and Janey (Wessels) Moeller of Cincinnati; nine grandchildren, Collin, Hannah, Camryn, Marah, Evan, Hayden, Connor, Elise and Troy. Surviving siblings include Betty (Jim) Harting, Ft. Collins, CO, Dan (Lucy) Moeller, Maria Stein, Charles (Rhonda) Moeller, Cape Coral, FL, Pat (Sue) Moeller, Maria Stein, Carolyn (Larry) Albers, Minster, Mary (Carl) Albers, Minster, Lavern (Nancy) Moeller, Montezuma, Jane (Gary) Heitkamp, Montezuma, Kris Rutschilling, Montezuma, Therese (Robert) Wilson, Camden, NY, Donna (Terry) Temple, Montezuma, and Melvin (Susie) Moeller, Montezuma.
Late siblings include Eileen Ronnebaum and Virginia Rindler.
Surviving Moeller in-laws include Giles Ronnebaum, Montezuma, and Richard Rindler, Montezuma.
Late Moeller in-laws include Orville Meyer, Robert Huffman II, and Dale Hinders.
Surviving Dippold in-laws include Dale (Bonnie) Dippold, St. Sebastian, Bob (Katie) Dippold, Cassella, Margie (Jim) Bruns, Coldwater and Gary Dippold, Cassella.
He was a graduate of Coldwater High School, a member of the 1961 undefeated Coldwater football team, a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, owner and operator of Moeller Soft Water and Repair, US Army Reserves, coached youth baseball for 12 years, operated the St. Henry High School football scoreboard for 22 years, a member of the St. Henry Board of Public Affairs for 9 years, American Legion member and was instrumental in the establishment of the original St. Henry Swimming Pool.
His passions included watching sporting events in particular his grandchildren, fishing, playing cards, bowling, puzzles, sudoku and he didn't know a stranger.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry, with Fr. Tom Hemm presiding. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 pm on Thursday and 9 to 10 am Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
