Stella Heitkamp
Stella C. Heitkamp, age 79, of St. Henry, died Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.
She was born April 13, 1938, at home, to the late Herman & Marie (Homan) Kremer. On September 10, 1960, she married Paul Heitkamp, and he survives in St. Henry.
She is survived by children, Dennis & Joan Heitkamp of Ft. Recovery, Dale & Mary Ann Heitkamp of St. Henry, Duane & Judy Heitkamp of St. Henry, daughters in law Paula Heitkamp of St. Henry, and Judy & John Heitkamp of New Bremen.
Stella is preceded in death by two sons, Donald Heitkamp and David Heitkamp.
Stella is also survived by 15 grandchildren and six great grandchildren, siblings: Mary Ann & Tom Poeppelman of St. Henry, Dolores & Dave Fortman of Minster, Rosie & Alan Diller of Coldwater, Marlene & Wayne Tekamp of Coldwater, Donald & Ginny Kremer of St. Henry, in-laws: Ivo Goettemoeller of St. Henry, Dorothy Chaney of Ft. Loramie, Eileen & Tom Litmer of St. Joe, Willie & Barb Heitkamp of St. Henry, Elmer & Julie Heitkamp of St. Anthony, Ruth Sutter of St. Henry, John & Millie Heitkamp of Tipp City, Ken Heitkamp of North Carolina, Ronny & Donna Heitkamp of Coldwater, Janice & Howard Homan of New Knoxville, Dan & Mary Heitkamp of Coldwater.
Stella is preceded in death by siblings Norb & Edna Kremer and Esther Goettemoeller, and in laws Ralph Gelhaus, Don Chaney, and Melvin & Evelyn Heitkamp.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Sodality, and a former member of the church choir. Stella was a charter member of the St. Henry EMS, she retired from Crown, and was a member of the Minster Eagles and Celina Moose.
She enjoyed gardening and canning. Stella will be remembered for her famous chicken and noodles, and spoiling her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 20, and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
