Patricia Jean Hays, 67, of Lady Lake, Florida, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018 of natural causes.
She was born February 18, 1951 in Columbus, Ohio to William & Jean (Baumgardner) Brown, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Shauna (Jonny) Walker, and her grandsons, Seth and Adam, all of Memphis, Tennessee; her son, Chad Hays, of Ada, Ohio; her sister, Sandy Dunlap of The Villages, Florida; her niece, Tisha Quilling of The Villages, Florida and her first cousin, William Cole of The Villages, Florida.
Patricia graduated from Celina Senior High in 1969 and briefly attended The Ohio State University. She assisted in running the family business at Motel Celina until the business was sold in 1985. Along with her parents and sister, Patricia moved permanently to Florida in 1995.
Patricia was passionate about creating art and scrapbooking. She finished many beautiful paintings over the years as well as made wonderful scrapbooks for her family.
She loved being a grandmother, playing on the floor with her grandsons each time they visited. She particularly loved playing with them and their Matchbox cars, especially a little, blue convertible that will be kept with her ashes. Patricia also made the best ham subs and spinach dip on earth. Her family will miss Patricia dearly.
Over the years, Patricia was a caretaker for her late aunt, Eileen (Brown) Cole, and also a caretaker for her beloved parents until their deaths in 2011 (Jean) and 2017 (William).
Therefore, family and friends may visit the Celina VFW at 1118 W. Logan St., Celina on Sunday, July 1st at 1 pm for a Memorial Service for Patricia, William & Jean Brown, and Eileen Cole. All family will be celebrated together at this ceremony and the Color Guard will honor William's WWII service.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Foundation Fighting Blindness in memory of Patricia to honor her son & grandson who are fighting a severe vision disease (Retinitis Pigmentosa) for which she wanted to find a cure.
