CELINA - A young Cooper's hawk is rehabbing at a nature center after an observant Celina man noticed the bird hopping across city streets.
Gary Smith said he was walking on Johnson Avenue near Ash Street on Tuesday morning when he noticed the young raptor on the ground and unable to fly. [More]

CELINA - City officials applauded the community for rallying behind a proposal to purchase and equip a new rescue and recovery vessel estimated to cost $90,000.
At a recent meeting, city council members passed as an emergency measure an ordinance appropriating $80,000 from the fire capital fund to purchase an EMS boat now that nearly $50,000 in outside contributions has been secured. [More]

NEW BREMEN - Nick Wells took a perfect game into the fifth inning and New Bremen strung together hits to pick up a 4-1 win over Minster in an ACME game that was ended in the bottom of the fifth inning due to an incoming storm.
The win moves the Cardinals to 7-3 on the spring. Minster drops to 10-2 and suffers its first loss of the summer in the state of Ohio after losing a game during the team's annual trip to Tennessee. [More]
