James Dahlinghaus
James A. Dahlinghaus age 81 of Maria Stein died at 11:20 AM on December 27, 2018 at Celina Manor.
He was born on May 10, 1937 in Egypt, Ohio to the late Henry & Elizabeth (Hoying) Dahlinghaus. He married Marlene Otte on September 8, 1962 at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Church in Cassella, Ohio. She survives in Maria Stein.
He is also survived by children: Sharon & Jay Thobe, Maria Stein, Donna & Bill Elking, Maria Stein, Jeff Dahlinghaus, Beavercreek, Nancy & Doug Billerman, Maria Stein, 10 grandchildren: Mitch & Kate Thobe, Tyler & Brittany Thobe, Allie Thobe, Jackie & Damon Bertke, Heidi & Blake Barnes, John & Rachael Elking, Katie Elking, Ryan Dahlinghaus, Marcus Billerman and Kurtis Billerman, 6 great grandchildren, Wesley, Drew, Mia, Paige, Madison and Eviana, brother & sisters: Rita & Omer Bertke, Maria Stein, Velma & Carl Spangler, St. Henry, Betty & Mel Bruggeman, McCartyville, Dave & Pat Dahlinghaus, Egypt, Marcia Dahlinghaus, Golden Valley, AZ, in-laws: Joe & Judy Otte, North Star, Martha & Bob Pohlman, Maria Stein, John & Alice Otte, Burkettsville, Dianne & Bill Glaser, Celina, Charlie & Kathy Otte, Cassella, Ruth & Joe Kahlig, St. Anthony, Karen & Jerry Moeller, Cassella.
He was preceded in death by son Mark, daughter-in-law Kim, an infant brother and sister-in-law Ruth Otte.
Jim was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, the Men's Sodality and the Knights of St. John, Maria Stein. He was a 1956 graduate of Minster High School, Veteran of the US Army and worked for 45 years at Minster Farmer's Co-Op.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Monday, December 31, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Brenberger celebrant, burial to follow in St. John Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 1 PM to 5 PM on Sunday, December 30, and from 9 AM to 10:00 AM on Monday December 31.
The family requests memorial donations be made to The State of the Heart Hospice.
