Naomi Lankford
Naomi F. Lankford, 85, of New Knoxville, and formerly of Las Vegas, died 12:07 P.M. Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at her daughter's residence in New Knoxville.
She was born June 19, 1933, in Arriba, Colorado, the daughter of Alonzo and Bessie (Switzer) Lucore. She married Lewis Lankford on December 26, 1959, in Denver, Colorado; he preceded her in death on September 7, 1994.
She is survived by her children: David Lankford of Las Vegas; Daniel Lankford of Las Vegas; Deborah (Jerome) Googeg of New Knoxville. She is survived by her 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Also surviving is her brother, Wayne Lucore of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by 2 siblings.
Naomi graduated from Cole High School in Colorado, and attended McPherson University. She had previously worked for the US State Department in Israel, where she met her husband, Lewis.
Funeral rites will be held 5:00 P.M. Saturday, April 13, 2019, at Open Door Baptist Church, 1812 University Blvd., Lima, Pastor William Turner, officiant. Graveside burial rites will be held at Cedaredge Cemetery, Cedaredge, Colorado.
Friends may call from 4:30-5:00 P.M. on Saturday at the church.
Memorial gifts may be given to Open Door Baptist Church, Lima.
