Ella Heindel
Ella J. Heindel, age 76, of Mendon, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at her daughter's residence in San Diego, California.
She was born on February 23, 1944 in Kentucky to the late Mack and Ida (Short) Martin.
Ella is survived by her husband, Jim Heindel, and children Michael (Karen) Heindel, Tressy (Paul) Fullenkamp, Robert (Tina) Heindel of Ohio, and Stephanie Martin-Gordon of California. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Carrie (Justin) Larck, Jennifer and Sara Fullenkamp, Derek Martin, Rebecca (Doug) Ferguson, and her honorary granddaughter Bailey Clark; Great-grandchildren Landon and Kylee Larck, Penny, Ian, and Seth Ferguson. Ella is survived by sisters Judy (Terry) Schmitt, Bonnie (RJ) Hall, and Sandy Couch; in-laws George (Linda) Hanna, Evelyn (George) Wilder, Eleanor Levi, Bill (Billie Jo) Heindel, Dave Heindel, and Mark (Jane) Heindel.
She was preceded in death by her siblings James and Ed Martin, Sara Stott, Mattie Hanna, Suzie Stukenborg, Millie Himes, Betty Amburgey, and Ada Music. Also, by her parents-in-law; brothers-in-law Marion Heindel and Leo Levi; sister-in-law Rita Heindel.
Ella was a 1964 graduate of Celina High School. She was employed at General Electric, Huffy Manufacturing, and Community Medical Center. She was best known for her love of cooking. She loved making her family and coworkers their favorite desserts on their birthdays.
Ella had a joy for life, always showing love and kindness. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially Albert Ochoa and his son Jacob. She also had a passion for helping others. Some of her hobbies included: baking, gardening, canning, antique shopping, collecting Fenton Art Glass, and dolls to name a few.
Private family funeral services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken VanHoose officiating. Burial will immediately follow services at the Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Viewing for the family will be one hour prior to the service. Attendees are asked, to respect the safety of the family, during services, observe social distancing and refrain from close physical contact. Please follow the guidelines dictated by the Ohio Department of Health, due to the National Health Concerns of COVID-19.
