Delores Quinter-Schwieterman
Delores R. Quinter-Schwieterman, age 90, of Maria Stein died Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
She was born December 16, 1929 in Maria Stein to the late Lawrence & Anna (Henke) Mescher. She first married Harold Quinter and he died in 1974, she then married Roger Schwieterman and he died in 2006.
She is survived by children: Deb & John Albers of New Bremen, Sandy Schwieterman of Swanton, Bob & Linda Schwieterman of Chickasaw, Jeff & Marcia Schwieterman of St. Rose, Curt Schwieterman of Lima and Laura & Kevin Griesdorn of Maria Stein; a son-in-law Bob Otting of Maria Stein; 16 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Mary Ann Quinter of Ft. Loramie; and a sister-in-law Velma Mescher of Coldwater.
She is preceded in death by a daughter Diane Otting; a grandchild; a great grandchild; and siblings and in-laws, Robert Mescher, Dorothy & Walt Imwalle, Ruth & Lawrence Bender, Irene & Ed Garman and Anthony Quinter.
She was a member of St. John Catholic Church, where she was a member of the ladies' sodality and a lay distributor. She graduated from St. John High School in 1948. She belonged to the Knights of St. John Auxiliary and the Maria Stein Jinx women's softball team.
Delores enjoyed crocheting and made afghans for all her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards and traveling. She worked at the former New Idea plant in Coldwater and for many years as a secretary for Marion Local Schools.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am, Thursday September 17, 2020 at St. John Catholic Church, Maria Stein (livestream at http://www.marioncatholiccommunity.org/live-stream.html). Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Maria Stein.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 pm Wednesday, September 16th and from 9 to 10 am Thursday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Due to COVID-19 concerns please limit physical contact with the family, wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
