Regina Wendel
Regina P. Wendel, age 88, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on December 28, 2020 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born January 11, 1932, in Osgood, OH, to the late Anthony and Sophia (Hartings) Drees. On May 2, 1951, she married the late Ermin Wendel, who died December 25, 2001.
Surviving are eight children, Pat (Rog) Puthoff of Bradford, OH, John (Lori) Wendel of Michigan City, IN, Richard Wendel of Coldwater, Don (Pat) Wendel, Randy (Kathy) Wendel, and Gin (Mike) Peyla all of Fort Recovery, Marlene Shade and companion Michael Harris of Celina, and Marcia (John) Loper of Columbia City, IN; a sister, Dorothy Kanney of Coldwater; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sandy Drees, Fort Wayne, IN; and in-laws, Imelda (Jerry) Wilker of New Bremen, OH, Elmer Wendel and Alvin (Martha) Wendel, both of Fort Recovery, and Melvin Wendel of Coldwater.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Tom Wendel, her siblings, Bernie (Art) Wendel, Mary (Henry) Mueller, Rose (Vic) Gruss, and Clem, Larry and Walt Drees, and her in-laws, Novella (Albert) Lauber, Thelma (Irvin) Schindler, Werner (Pat) Wendel, Joan Wendel and Virgil Wendel.
Regina was a member of the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, its Altar Rosary Sodality and had served as secretary of the church cemetery board. She was previously employed at the former Bargers Flower Shop, Fort Recovery and was a past office manager at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
Regina enjoyed helping out the community and served as the treasurer of the Fort Recovery Jubilee Committee for many years. In her past time, she enjoyed bowling, crocheting, playing cards and especially spending time with her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, with Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. All CDC guidelines will be followed during Mass which will be live streamed at www.fortrecoverycatholics.org/streamspot/.
Calling is 9:00 am-10:30 am Thursday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, OH. Masks are required to be worn during the visitation and CDC guidelines will be followed.
