Florentine Moeller
Florentine S. Moeller, age 93, of Chickasaw, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born July 17, 1927 in Chickasaw to the late John & Anna (Bruns) Knapke. On September 7, 1949 she married Arthur G. Moeller, and he died July 16, 1980.
Florentine is survived by her 14 children and their spouses, Nancy & Tom Homan of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Larry & Trudy Moeller, Gary & Donna Moeller, Linda & Charlie Muhlenkamp, Terry & Lisa Moeller all of Cassella, Tim & Joyce Moeller of Maria Stein, Jerry & Karen Moeller of Cassella, Deb & Allan Kremer of Carthagena, Art & Joyce Moeller of Maria Stein, Lisa & Dan Gross of St. Rose, Mike & Melissa Moeller of Chickasaw, Patrick & June Moeller of Chickasaw, Becky & Chris Muhlenkamp of Coldwater, and Ann & Paul Nietfeld of Maria Stein, 55 grandchildren, 108 great grandchildren, and siblings: Mary Klosterman of Celina, Bob & (Ginny) Knapke of Minster and in-law: Ellen Kramer of Chickasaw.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Florentine is preceded in death by a grandson Jordan Moeller, a granddaughter Theresa Homan and siblings and in-laws: Armella & Walter Rawers, Olive & Clem Miller, Norbert & Katherine Knapke, Leo & Rita Knapke, Agnes & Cletus Hemmelgarn, Hilda & Linus Brunswick, Tillie & Roman Elking, Paul Knapke, Paul Klosterman, Alvira & Richard Boeckman, Viola & Vincent Ontrop, Wilbur "Pete" & Rita Moeller, Dorothy & Eugene Schoenlein, Verena & Cletus Tobe, Richard & Doris Moeller, and Andy Kramer.
Florentine "Florie" was a devout Catholic, a dedicated caring mother and a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. She volunteered her time at St. Peter's Neurological Center, Maria Stein Spiritual Center, Caring Ministry, and Mercer County Right to Life.
She was a faithful Marion Local Flyer fan and enjoyed cheering on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in countless games and events.
She loved crocheting. Florie made an afghan for every child and grandchild. She also enjoyed gardening and especially tending to her flowers. However playing cards is what lit the fire within her. Florie took an interest in everybody and never knew a stranger. Her beautiful family is her legacy that will endure.
A Mass of Christian Burial following all CDC guidelines will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday January 2, 2021 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Chickasaw. Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Chickasaw.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Friday, January 1 at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
