He was honorably discharged from the United States Army as a Drill Sergeant in 1974. He retired from the Maintenance Department at Red Gold in Geneva, Indiana, after fourteen years of service. He was a member of the Celina Church of the Nazarene.
He loved going fishing and enjoyed catching, cleaning, and giving away his fish to people and to the food pantry. He had a special way of cleaning his fish so it didn't taste fishy and had no bones. He loved traveling and being with his family. He was a very talkative person and loved The Lord, so he always was talking to people at the lake where he was fishing and leading them through the sinner's prayer if they weren't saved, of course he always asked first. He will be missed very much by his wife Carol, his children, and his grandchildren.
Private family funeral services will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Chris Riffle officiating.
