Marilyn Schmitmeyer
Marilyn E. Schmitmeyer age 84 of Minster, Ohio died Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton.
She was born March 3, 1936 in St. Marys, Ohio to the late Alvin & Anna (Heitbrink) Menker. She married Donald Schmitmeyer on June 1, 1957 at Holy Rosary Church, St. Marys, Ohio. He survives in Minster.
She is also survived by children: Mark &Vicki Schmitmeyer, Dallas Texas, Doug & Karen Schmitmeyer, Minster, Bruce Schmitmeyer, Minster, Jill & Michael Albers, Minster, 7 grandchildren, Brian & Cassandra Schmitmeyer, Jennifer Schmitmeyer, Stephanie & Dale Bruns, Jessica & Nicholas Kobunski, Andrew & Morgan Albers, Jonathan Albers, Alex Schmitmeyer, 5 great grandchildren, Morgan, Anna, Evan Schmitmeyer, Tate Bruns, Lillian Kobunski, brother Eugene Menker, Allen Texas, sisters-in-law Martha & Cyril Thobe, Chickasaw, Mary Ann Schmitmeyer, Fort Loramie.
She was preceded in death by grandson Matthew Schmitmeyer, brothers & sisters: Virginia & Les Schneider, Alfrieda & Donald Backs, Lavern & Jane Menker, Norman & Rosie Menker, Nan Menker, in-laws: sister Dorothy Schmitmeyer CPPS, Roger Schmitmeyer, Jerry & Kathy Schmitmeyer, Urban Schlater.
She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. She was a St. Marys Memorial High School graduate, an assistant manager at Adolph's Restaurant and a longtime worker at Danone. She enjoyed decorating for every Holiday, with treats always ready. She would never miss her grandchildren's activities. Later, she enjoyed card club as well as camping and fishing with her husband Donald.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 AM on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, March 5, 2021. Visitors are asked to follow CDC guidelines at request of the family please wear a mask and keep social distancing.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Grand Lake Hospice.
