Vernon Bruns
Vernon E. Bruns, age 74, of Maria Stein, died Saturday, September 18, 2021 in an accident on Rolfes Rd. He was born April 23, 1947 in Celina to the late Richard & Alice (Kremer) Bruns. On April 29, 1972 he married Maxine (Rindler) in Burkettsville and she survives.
Also surviving are children Gregory (Misty) Bruns of Celina, Jason (Abby) Bruns of Maria Stein, Kevin (Tara) Bruns of Galena, Sarah (Doug) Mendenhall of Versailles and Kelly (TJ) Ansley of Galena; 13 grandchildren; and siblings and in-laws, Leonard (Lucy) Bruns of Celina, Janice (Roger) Hartke of Celina, Linda (Ken) Lorton of Burkettsville, Jane (Gary) Barga of Union City, IN, Michael (Elaine) Rindler of St. Henry, Steve (Rita) Rindler of North Star, Leon Rindler of Burkettsville, Alan (Peg) Rindler of St. Henry and Cindy (Carl) Westgerdes of Coldwater.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein, the men's holy name of the church, the Maria Stein American Legion and was a server at the Relic Shrine. Vern worked over 40 years at Minster Machine and served in the US Army. He enjoyed following his grandchildren's activities, taking walks in nature and following the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Browns and Cavaliers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at the St. John Church. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm on Tuesday and 9 to 9:45 am on Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
