Lulla Lockwood
Lulla Belle Lockwood, age 87, of Celina, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at The Gardens at Celina.
She was born July 23, 1934, in Spencerville, to the late Gilbert Sr. & Cleo (Counts) Seibert.
Lulla Belle is survived by 7 children: Terry (Deb) Lockwood, Cheryl Lockwood, Roy Lockwood Jr., Bruce Lockwood, Danny (Barb) Lockwood, Tammy Wallen, and Crystal (Chris) Secrest, all of Celina, 13 grandchildren: Terri (Dallas) Stewart, Jeremy Lockwood, Miranda Black, Savaniah (Pete) Serio, Casandra Smith, Kevin Lockwood, Amber (Jordan) Gehle, David (Emily) Lockwood, Amanda Lockwood, Jay Lee Baker, Beth (Pat) Salyers, Sarah (Bryant) Orick, and Kate Secrest, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, a brother & 3 sisters: Mildred Seibert, Juanita Bonifield, Betty Thomas, and Gilbert Seibert Jr., and a special niece, Sue (Gary) Clay.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lou Anne Lockwood, on June 22, 1979, brothers: Bob Seibert and Gerald Seibert, and her former husband, Roy A. Lockwood Sr., who passed away September 29, 2007.
A full-time mother and homemaker, Lulla Belle had also worked with the local CAC (Community Action Commission) for several years. As a mother of children with special needs, Lulla Belle greatly appreciated the assistance of the staff at Cheryl Ann Programs. Over the years, their programs provided three of her children with the skills they needed to become independent adults.
Lulla Belle had attended the Celina Baptist Temple and The Lord's Abounding Grace Church. She enjoyed meals and fellowship at the Mercer County Council on Aging (Senior Citizens). A self-taught musician, Lulla Belle enjoyed playing the piano, harmonica, and organ. She loved cats, and never turned away a stray. Years ago, she liked to go bike riding. Most of all, Lulla Belle loved spending time with her family.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 22, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Diane Mendelson, officiating. Burial will follow at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling Hours are 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 21, and an hour prior to Services on Friday, at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial Contributions may be made to EverHeart Hospice or The Gardens at Celina, in appreciation for the wonderful care and compassion provided to Lulla Belle. The Lockwood family is truly grateful for their support.
