Richard Teeters
Richard L. Teeters, 79, of Saint Marys, died 1:23 P.M. Thursday, October 14, 2021, in Sylvania, Ohio.
He was born May 14, 1942, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, the son of Charles and Velma (Beery) Teeters. He married Kay Prueter on April 26, 1970; she preceded him in death on December 23, 2016.
He is survived by his son: Matthew Teeters of Saint Marys; by a brother: Fred (Diana) Teeters of Brawley, California; by a nephew: Kevin Teeters of Brawley, California; a niece, Charla Teeters Stewart of Brawley. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Kyle Prueter of Perrsyburg, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Kay.
Richard was a 1960 graduate of Mendon Union High School. He attended Air Traffic Controller School in Biloxi, Mississippi, and he served as an air traffic controller in the US Air Force. After he was discharged, he worked at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, where he was Head Park Ranger and Assistant Park Manager at Grand Lake St. Marys State Park. He earned an Associates' Degree in Computer Science at Lima Technical College, and he retired from Crown Equipment Corporation. Richard, along with his wife, Kay, was a 4-H Club Advisor for the Rascals 4-H Club for 25 years. He loved sports and was a member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church in Saint Marys.
Funeral rites will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, the Reverend Tim Benjamin, officiant. Burial will follow at Willow Branch Cemetery, Waynesfield, Ohio.
Friends may call from noon until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to 4-H.
