Ruth Ann Shaw
Ruth Ann Shaw (Dearth), 80, of Lima, OH left the world and entered the gates of heaven, surrounded by her loving family, on October 24, 2021 around 3:00 pm at The Meadows of Delphos.
Ruthie was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in February of 2020, just before the COVID-19 pandemic struck. She fought a long and hard battle with cancer. She loved spending time with her family, dancing with her husband and friends at the Eagles, listening to country music, looking at the flowers she grew and the birds that she fed outside of her bay window, and watching her great-grandchildren grow.
Ruth Ann was born on September 22, 1941 in Ada, OH. She grew up with three brothers and a single mother. She met her husband, Dennie, when she was just 18 years old, a senior at Ada High School, and he was out of service in the United States Army. She graduated from Ada High School in May and Dennie and Ruthie were married just a few months later on September 24, 1960, just two days after she turned 19.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her mother, Mary J. (Johnson) McCartney of Ada, OH; father, Edwin Dearth of Ada, OH; and two brothers, Gerald and Ronnie Dearth of Ada, OH.
Ruth Ann leaves behind her husband of 61 years and the love of her life, Dennis Breese Shaw; son, Mark K. (Shelly) Shaw; daughter, Sheri L. (Paul) Ansley; four granddaughters, Jessica L. Wilson (Ashley Wooten) of Cincinnati, OH; Brianna N. (Jeremy) Pelfrey of Celina, OH; Marrissa A. Brown (fiancé Brianna Rose) of Southgate, MI; Kinsey D. (Gabe) Ward of Richmond, IN; one grandson, Brayden M. Shaw of Celina, OH.; three great-grandsons, Peyton and Eli Pelfrey of Celina, OH and Gannon Brown of Southgate, MI; one brother, Danny Dearth of Roosevelt, UT; and one half-sister Deb Kirkendall of Ada, OH.
She will be profoundly missed as she was so loved by all who knew her. "He will cover you with his feathers, And under his wings you will find refuge." Psalm 91:4
