CELINA - Two local COVID-19 vaccine booster clinics for the Moderna vaccine will be held in November, according to local health officials.
The clinics come after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday endorsed the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's authorization and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices' recommendation for a booster shot of COVID-19 vaccines in certain populations, according to a Monday news release from the Mercer County Health District. CELINA - City council on Monday night voted 4-2 against legislation that would make Celina a sanctuary for the unborn and effectively outlaw abortion in the city.

ST. MARYS - Three candidates hope to snatch up the seat of second ward councilman Kenneth Koverman, who did not file to run for re-election this year.

NEW BREMEN - Village council members on Monday night gave second reading of an ordinance to transfer a 7.7-acre parcel in the village's Bunker Hill Industrial Park to the Community Improvement Corporation.
COLDWATER - Village council members on Monday unanimously passed on third reading an ordinance that would grant raises of about 2% over each of the next three years for hourly and salaried employees. The 12-step pay scale was increased about 50 cents per hour from 2021.
Three cemeteries in Mercer County are among 51 in the state that will receive grant funds for special care and attention, according to an Ohio Department of Commerce news release.
