Chalmer D. Huston, 91, of Rockford passed away on November 09, 2022 at Van Wert Health, Van Wert, Ohio. He was born on October 30, 1931, in Mercer County, son of the late Elmer and Beatrice (Gause) Huston.

On December 11, 1999, he married June (Now) Huston, who survives.

Chalmer proudly served with the US Army. After discharge from the military, he worked for over 40 years at International Harvester (later Navistar) until retirement. He was a member of Trinity Friends Church in Van Wert. He was proud of being able to help with the Trinity Friends Church food pantry, as well as with mission trips with the church. Chalmer loved harness horses and hunting. But he especially loved his grandkids.

In addition to his wife, surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Courtney Berryann of Fort Wayne, IN, and Lisa Huston of Geneva, IN; one brother, Larry Huston of Las Vegas, NV, the mother of his children, Roselyn K. Huston of Geneva, IN, six grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Huston; four brothers, James Huston, Paul Huston, Erman Huston, and Eugene Huston; and one sister, Louise Huston.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, 111 W. First Street Rockford, OH 45882 with Pastor Matt McGovern officiating. Interment will follow in East Bethel Cemetery, S.R. 707 Blackcreek Township Rockford, OH 45882.

Family and friends will be received from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home 111 W. First Street Rockford, OH 45882.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Chalmer`s memory may be sent to Rockford American Legion Post #508, 105 W. Bridge Street, Rockford, OH 45882.
