Gerald Watercutter
Gerald L. Watercutter, age 84, peacefully passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at Mercer Health Hospital in Coldwater, OH. He was born September 30, 1939, to the late Leo & Mathilda (Albers) Watercutter. On June 3, 1964, he married Patricia (Stucke) Watercutter.
His wife Pat survives in Cranberry Prairie. Jerry is survived by his 14 children and their spouses: Steve & Mary Watercutter of Cranberry Prairie, Doug & Linda Watercutter of St. Henry, Kristy & Mark Schulze of St. Henry, Mark & Kathy Watercutter of Cranberry Prairie, Brenda & Mike Robinson of Coldwater, Julie & Ron Dues of St. Henry, Sandy & Randy Mangen of Versailles, Angie & Jay Siefring of Galena, LeAnn & Kevin Schmitmeyer of Bradford, Jacquelyn & Eric Chivington of Columbus, Mary & Ben Wourms of Columbus, Sara & Bruce Harlamert of Coldwater, Kim & Daryl Scott of Dublin, and Matt & Karla Watercutter of Cranberry Prairie. Also surviving Jerry are his 53 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren with two on the way, a sister, Linda & Chalmer Gasson of Fort Loramie, and in-laws: Jim Hulsmeyer of Sidney, Dick & Francee Stucke of St. Henry, Ron & Carolyn Stucke of Cassella, Sue Wendel-Adams of Celina, Nick & Bonnie Stucke of Mason, John & Cindy Stucke of Chickasaw, Lavern & Sue Stucke of Lebanon, Dale & Phyllis Stucke of Ashburn, Virginia, Ann Stucke of Minster, and Pam Stucke of St. Rose.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his stepfather, Anthony Hemmelgarn, his father and mother-in-law, Werner and Alvera Stucke, a sister, Carol Hulsmeyer, step siblings, Dorothy & Bill Brussel, and Evelyn & Karl Ahrns, and in-laws: Delbert Stucke, Jim Stucke, Gary Wendel, and Bob Adams.
As an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church, he sang in the choir and attended mass every morning. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard and was a member of the Knights of St. John in Maria Stein. Jerry was a lifelong farmer, and had worked for Matt Schwieterman Construction and Cy Schwieterman Inc. for many years. Jerry loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and activities, fishing, and tinkering in his shop. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed playing cards, and his greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Most of all, Jerry was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 12, 2024, at St. Henry Catholic Church in St. Henry. Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery in Cranberry Prairie.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 11, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
