Bradley Klose
Bradley Jay Klose, 76 of Dalton, passed away July 6, 2024 at Berkshire Medical Center after a long battle with heart disease.
He was born in San Jose, CA on September 19, 1947 to Robert and Genevieve Nieter Klose. He grew up in New Bremen, OH and was a 1965 graduate of New Bremen High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Miami University, Oxford OH in 1968 and received his Juris Doctorate degree from Ohio Northern University in 1973.
Brad served in the US Army from 1969-1971 as a Medical Corpsman stationed in Vietnam during the 1970 Winter-Spring Campaign.
He was married to Clare Riley Klose in 1982.
Brad enjoyed a 30 year law career and was employed as an Attorney at the Former Ohio National Life Insurance Company, in Cincinnati, OH from 1975-1985; Associate General Counsel for the former Berkshire Life from 1985-2002; and VP General Counsel for Legacy Banks from 2002-2006.
Brad especially cherished spending his summers visiting his parents at their home at Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, IN. It was there that he loved teaching his four children to catch turtles, fish and water ski. Brad enjoyed following his home teams as an avid fan of The Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals. He especially loved playing golf with his longtime friends at Bas Ridge Golf Course in Hinsdale MA.
Brad spent his extra time playing various card and word games online. He was an ace bridge player especially enjoying his time with his competitive friends at his winter home in Estero, FL.
Brad is survived by his wife, Clare Klose of Dalton; son, Bret Klose and wife Meredith Joyner of Charlotte, NC; daughter, Erica Klose of Charlotte, NC; Erin Klose Williamson of Worcester, MA. Ten Grandchildren: Tyler, Benjamin, Alexandra, Isabella and Adam Klose, Madelynn and Emma Stewart, Kinnon, Riley and Kyland Williamson; his brother, Rodney Klose and wife Marlene of New Breman, OH; nephew, Brandon and wife Karla, as well as two great-nephews, Liam and Daxton.
He was predeceased by his son, Bradley L. Klose in 2018.
Per the request of Brad, no calling hours or funeral services will be held.
Military honors will be held at a later date with a Celebration of Life to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
