Kenneth Dicke
Kenneth A. Dicke, age 86, of New Bremen, died peacefully on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 4:31 P.M. at the Lima Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 29, 1937 in German Twp., Auglaize County, Ohio, the son of the late Albert J. and Marie P. (Koenig) Dicke. On November 16, 1957 he married Carolyn M. Schmidt who preceded him in death on August 28, 2010.
Surviving are his children: Todd (Becky) Dicke of Lima, and Dawn Dicke of Cridersville; his grandchildren: Mike (Brianna) Dicke of Jenera, and Lauren Dicke of Lima; and his great-grandchildren: Everly and Jensen.
Along with his parents and wife, Ken was preceded in death by his sister and brother in-law, Jean (Dr. Charles) Dickman.
Ken was a graduate of New Bremen High School and was a faithful member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen. He was a life-long farmer who enjoyed spending time outdoors in the woods and loved attending antique tractor shows as a member of the Buckeye Farm Antiques.
He had worked as a salesman for the former Hay's Tools in Sidney before they were acquired by IDG Supply and retired as the regional branch manager after more than 30 years of service. Outside of work, Ken and Carolyn loved to watch their grandchildren's sporting activities, going camping, and traveling - especially to Amish country in Holmes County or Shipshewana. Ken also enjoyed collecting antique tools and was active in several card clubs throughout the years playing a number of various games with his circle of friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul United Church of Christ in New Bremen, with Rev. David Voll officiating. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen.
Calling Hours will be held prior to the funeral on Friday, July 19, from 9:00 until 11:00 A.M. at the church. Memorial contributions in Ken's memory may be made to St. Paul Church.
