Jerome Nieport
Jerome P. "Jerry" Nieport, age 63, of St. Henry, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at his home in St. Henry. He was born July 22, 1961, in Coldwater, to the late Anthony & Dolores (Abels) Nieport.       Jerry is survived by siblings and their spouses, Sharon & Steven Heitbrink of St. Sebastian, Steven & Lucy Ann Nieport of St. Henry, Janet & Bob Heeke of Lake City, Florida, and Jerry's twin sister Judy & Ron McCoy of Emporia, Kansas; twelve nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Ernie Nieport, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Jerry was a graduate of St. Henry High School and went on to work for Crown Equipment Corp. for many years. He also worked part time at the former Kremer's Gun Shop and helped his uncle on his farm. Jerry was a quiet guy, and he enjoyed trap shooting. He belonged to the New Bremen Rod & Gun Club, the Mercer County Sportsman Association, and was a lifetime member of the NRA. Jerry also was an avid blood donor, donating 124 times or over 15 gallons of blood in his lifetime.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery. Friends may call 3 to 7 pm on Friday August 30th, and 9 to 10 am on Saturday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jerry's name to The American Red Cross Blood Services. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
