Cyril Pleiman
Cyril Wilfred Pleiman, age 67, of St. Rt. 705, Yorkshire, Ohio, passed away peacefully of natural causes at his residence Saturday morning, November 9, 2024. He was born December 1, 1956, in Coldwater, Ohio, to the late Henry & Matilda (Holscher) Pleiman. On September 23, 1978, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Sidney, Cyril married Lisa (Moeller) Pleiman who survives.
Also surviving are three children: Michelle & Dan Subler of Troy, Andy & Abby Pleiman of Fort Loramie and Alan & Brittany Pleiman of Osgood; eight grandchildren: Cameron and Jonathan Subler, Addison, Allie, Aiden and Ainsley Pleiman, and Raegen and Connor Pleiman; ten siblings: Neal & Mary Jean Pleiman of Osgood, Ralph & Ruth Pleiman of Sidney, Larry & Linda Pleiman of Yorkshire, Carl & Rita Pleiman of Fort Recovery, Joan Maier of Houston, Mary Lou Overton of Sidney, Monica & Ron Manger of Botkins, Vic & Peg Pleiman of Sidney, Lucy & Tony Budde of Richland, WA, and Thelma & Joe Green of Jackson Center as well as sisters & brothers-in-law: Bernice Pleiman of Versailles, Cindy & Ron Steinke of McCormick, SC, Kevin Moeller of Vandalia and Dianne & Chris Wooddell of Sidney along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Eugene Pleiman as well as Patrick, Joseph and Remigius Pleiman who died in their infancy/youth; sisters & brothers-in-law: Irene Pleiman, Joe Maier and Larry Overton; two nephews, Mike Pleiman, Doug Moeller and father & mother-in-law, Earl & Evelyn (Jutte) Moeller.
Mr. Pleiman was a 1975 graduate of Minster High School. In 2022, he retired from the French Oil Mill Machinery Company of Piqua and had also been engaged in farming all of his working life. Cyril was a life-long member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Over the years, he served as a church usher, St. Martin Cemetery board member and Osgood Life Squad board member. Cyril was dedicated to his family and the daily tasks of the farm. He also enjoyed tinkering to keep equipment rolling and to find the best way of doing things. He was proud to live in the same house his whole life; his only move was upstairs to downstairs.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM, Thursday, November 14, 2024, at St. Nicholas Church in Osgood, with Rev. Stephen Jones presiding. Interment will follow at St. Martin Cemetery. Family and friends may call Wednesday, 2:00 to 7:00 PM and Thursday 9:00 to 10:00 AM at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
