Anna Heppeard
Anna Mae Heppeard, age 77, of Mendon, passed away peacefully in the arms of her daughter and granddaughter, at her home on Sunday, April 20, 2025.
She was born on June 7, 1947, in Celina, to Richard L. and Hazel R. (McDowell) Wycuff.
Ann met her loving husband, David, one day when she was mowing a yard. He stopped the car, got out and announced that one day he was going to marry her. He did just that, and Dave was the love of her life. Ann was lost when Dave passed away 8 years ago. But after about 3 years of being a widow, she met Mr. Marvin "Buck" Wilker. Ann enjoyed almost 5 years of being his best friend, wedding date, card playing buddy, and girlfriend. We are so blessed that Marvin and his family loved her as much as we did.
Surviving are Ann's son and daughter-in-law: Richard & Jenna Heppeard of Freedom, Maine and daughter and son-in-law: Lori & Eric Robbins of Celina. Ann was the Gran to 10 grandchildren: Meagen (Kara Randolph) Sutter, Benjamin Sutter, Katelyn (Keith) Neighbors, Brooke Robbins (Austin Stobbs), Cole (Zoe) Robbins, Bryan (Morgan) Jackson, Joshua Heppeard, Dalton Heppeard, Stephanie Heppeard, and Corie Niekamp. Ann has 12 great-grandchildren who loved their Gigi very much.
Ann was the 2nd oldest of 11 children. Surviving are brothers & sisters and in-laws: Ruth (Bill) Stetler, sister-in-law Alice Wycuff, David "Tom" (Deb) Wycuff, Sue Fisher, Mary (Mike) Evers, Dorothy Gilbert, John (Theresa) Wycuff, Jake (Becky) Wycuff, and Bill (Marilyn) Wycuff, and many nieces & nephews.
Preceding Ann in death were her parents, parents-in-law: Kenneth & Helen Heppeard, brothers: Junior & Vadie Wycuff and Dale Wycuff, and brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law: Jim Fisher, David Gilbert, and Howard & Elizabeth (Heppeard) Daniels.
Ann attended the former Mendon United Methodist Church, and was church secretary for several years. She was very supportive of the church's youth. Ann was one of the first women archers in the State of Ohio, and enjoyed participating at many different archery competitions.
Ann retired after 31 years of service at Goodyear Tire and Rubber. After retirement, Ann enjoyed selling for Home & Garden Party, where she met so many people who became friends. Ann also worked as a private in-home caregiver for several individuals, and she enjoyed helping with the food stand at her son-in-law's auctions.
Ann was one of the nicest people, and didn't know a stranger. You never knew who would be at her table for dinner. She never wanted anyone to be alone, especially on a holiday. An amazing cook, Ann's pies were everyone's favorite. She made "wedding pies" for 2 of her grandchildren's weddings. Ann's family meant the world to her, and she loved spending time with them.
