Jay Kuck
Jay Leslie Kuck (February 8, 1954-July 1, 2026) passed away with his beloved wife, Cheryl, by his side after a lengthy battle with cancer.
He leaves behind his wife, Cheryl (maiden name Colton); his children: Lara (Jack) Liou, Katrina Boylan, Tynan (Catherine) Kuck, Calen (Tiffany) Kuck, and Jace Kuck, and nine wonderful grandchildren; his sister Susan (David) Allen; brother Ted (Kay) Kuck; sister-in-law Carol Kuck; mother-in-law Shirley Colton; brother-in-law Chris (Linda) Colton and sister-in-law Cindy (Neal) Fledderjohann.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Ruth Kuck; his father-in-law, Evan Colton; and his brother Ronald Kuck.
Jay and Cheryl built a life traversing from land to sea and back again, with a million adventures along the way: fishing, boating, and beaching on Cape Cod; cheering on the Buckeyes; skiing with his family on the annual trip to Killington.
By day, Jay was a mechanical design engineer at Crown Equipment, with multiple patents to his name; on the nights and weekends, he returned to his roots as a partner in the family farm, Kuck's Turkey Farm.
He was an engineer through and through: he had a quirky, wry sense of humor, with a twinkle in his eye; he loved Star Wars, cars, and diligently tending and building his Ohio and Cape properties for his family and friends to enjoy.
Since his diagnosis, he fulfilled several travel dreams with Cheryl and friends.
Jay was a graduate of New Knoxville High School and The Ohio State University.
He was also a man of quiet, yet deep faith as a longtime member of Wayne Street United Methodist Church.
The family thanks the many people who offered prayers and support and sends a special thank you to Diane Feldwisch for her hospitality and support while Jay was treated in Houston. The family also wishes to thank the care teams at MD Anderson, University of Cincinnati Health, and Joint Township District Memorial Hospital.
The family will receive visitors at Wayne Street Church in St. Marys, OH on Thursday, July 9 from 5 - 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 10, at 10:00 a.m. Wayne Street Church.
