Velma Mescher
Velma E. Mescher, age 97 of Maria Stein, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026 at Briarwood Village, Coldwater Ohio.
She was born on November 7, 1928 in Philothea Ohio to Joseph & Mary (Osterloh) Bowman. She married the late Robert (Bud) Mescher on June 10, 1950 in Egypt, Ohio and he preceded her in death on September 26, 2015.
Velma is survived by her children: Dale & Roberta Mescher, Temple, Texas, Gary & Susan Mescher, Danville, Vermont, Judith Mescher, Celina Ohio, Sharon Doenges, Sugarland, Texas, Glenn & Debra Mescher, Port Charlotte, Florida, 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, siblings Luella Prenger, Norman Bohman, Dorothy Barlage & Joan Wuebker.
She is proceeded in death by her loving husband Robert (Bud) Mescher, sisters Rita Buening and Evelyn Eilerman and son in law Joseph Doenges.
She was a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church, Maria Stein Ohio, the Ladies Sodality of the Church, and helped at the Spiritual Center and Shrine in Maria Stein.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster on Monday, July 13, 2026 from 4-7PM and from on July 14, 2026 from 9-10 AM
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 10:30AM at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Chickasaw. Following the funeral Mass, burial will take place in St John's Cemetery in Maria Stein.
