Nicholas Giesige
Nicholas "Nick" Frederick Giesige was a radiant presence with a contagious laugh and unwavering kindness. Nick found no person a stranger and sought to make new friends wherever he went.
Nick passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 12:35 p.m. at Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was 34. Nick was surrounded by his loved ones in the city that he called home.
He was born on October 7, 1991, in St. Marys, Ohio, the son of Frederick and Ann (Green) Giesige, who survive in Celina, Ohio. A 2010 graduate of Celina High School, Nick continued his education at the University of Cincinnati, graduating in 2014.
Throughout his life, Nick studied, traveled, and observed. While at UC, Nick studied in San Sebastian, Spain, for a semester. A true student of life, he found joy in discovering new ideas, mastering new skills, and growing through every experience. In each adventure and everyday life, Nick carried a light that was hard to miss and captivated those he met. He was a kind and gentle person, always fair and always thoughtful. Nick was dependable and supportive whether at work or in life. He treated everyone with great respect and kindness regardless of background.
Nick worked with Rhinegeist Brewery in Cincinnati, Ohio, and currently worked with Brew-tiful Lines in Charlotte, North Carolina. He also poured his heart and passion into his hobbies and entrepreneurial projects, Greenmove Gardens with his fiancé Jenn and Holiday Light Installers with his close friend Zach. He loved cooking and experimenting with new recipes, curating an array of books, and cultivating an oasis in his backyard. He took pride in being a supportive brother and cherished time with his family, whether it was holidays, weddings, or time at the "Woods." Nick loved his dogs, Bucket and Doc Henderson, and their unwavering loyalty. But most of all, he loved Jenn wholeheartedly and the life they built together.
Nick was taken too soon, yet his memory lives through the love for those around him, his creations and projects, and the deep impact he made on family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and strangers.
Nick is survived by his fiancé, Jenn Steigerwald, of Charlotte, North Carolina; siblings, Joseph (Jennifer) and Andrew, of Celina; Alexander (Madison), New Marshfield, Ohio; Lydia, Marysville, Ohio; Elyse, Columbus, Ohio; Sarah, Athens, Ohio; and Jennifer (Kevin) Gatewood, Oregon, Ohio; the Steigerwald family, who loved Nick like a son and brother; and the many little ones that knew him as "Uncle Nick."
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Murle and Berniece Green, and Raymond and Patricia Giesige; his brother, Bradley Giesige; and his future Father-in-Law, Michael Steigerwald.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, August 7th, 2026, at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Church in Celina, with Fr. Prashanth Bandanadham officiating.

Nick was a giver. Following suit, he selflessly chose to become an organ donor. His final act of generosity continues his legacy of kindness, bringing hope and healing to countless families. Nick never hesitated to help anyone around him, whether that be a neighbor, friend, or loved one. In that spirit, his family established a memorial fund.
A memorial donation may be made by check to "Nicholas F Giesige Benefit" c/o Dynamic Federal Credit Union at 900 E. Wayne Street, Celina, OH, 45822, or via Venmo to @Ann-Giesige, to be deposited into the fund. Proceeds will be donated to grassroots organizations that Nick passionately cared about. In that way, and in many others, Nick leaves a legacy of kindness that will continue to grow in all who knew him.
Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.ciscofuneralhome.com or on the Cisco Funeral Homes Facebook page.
