Scattered snow showers occurring across the area will slowly diminish through the overnight hours. These snow showers will continue to cause brief reductions in visibility. In addition, the snow showers could produce a light coating of snow on roadways. This will result in the potential for some slick spots to develop. Motorists should be prepared for changing conditions overnight and exercise extra caution.

Damaged wheat acres likely to go to corn; but check with FSA first

Some of the county's wheat has been damaged due to late and less than ideal planting conditions last fall, torrential rains in February and freezing weather in recent weeks.
Though the problem is not widespread, it likely will cause some farmers to tear up their wheat fields and plant corn, especially in light of the high market prices for corn right now. [More]
A never-say-die effort helped the Celina baseball team win its third straight game as the Bulldogs rallied from two runs down in the bottom of the seventh for a 4-3 victory over Coldwater in a matchup of Mercer County squads.
Celina senior Eric Loughridge hustled out an infield single, just beating the throw to first base, allowing Nick Gray to score the winning run as the Bulldogs improved to 5-7 on the season. [More]
