Snow showers associated with an arctic front are moving through this morning, providing a quick accumulation of snowfall. With wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph, the snow showers combined with blowing snow are reducing visibility and creating challenging travel conditions. These conditions are most impactful on roads that are more rural and are aligned from north to south. Even after the snow ends, elevated winds will continue to blow snow into the early afternoon.
Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

An Arctic front will sweep east across the region between 5 AM and 9 AM. A few hours of snow showers and west wind gusts of 35 to 40 mph will occur with the frontal passage. While any accumulations will generally be a half inch or less, some challenging travel conditions may develop given, rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities, strong wind and cold temperatures. These conditions will impact the morning commute. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 10 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Harold Coffman
Harold M. "Bud" Coffman, 81, Lima, died at 6:28 p.m. May 10 at St. Rita's Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 22, 1925, in South Jennings Township, Van Wert County, to Orville W. and Gladys C. Marbaugh Coffman. On Aug. 3, 1947, he married Marjorie W. Lee, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Richard "Deck" (Kathy), Hoagland, Ind.; two daughters, Janie R. (Brice) McBride, Lima, and Connie L., Wapakoneta; a brother, Homer (Eva), Edgerton; three sisters, Mary Jane Putman, New Haven, Ind., Marilyn Emans, Mendon, and Martha (Max) Wood, Spencerville; four grandchildren; and three great grandsons.
Deceased are three brothers, Henry, Wilbert and Maurice Wright; and three sisters, Aileen Riley, Marie Savidge, and Lucille Goodwin.
He retired as a car mechanic and supervisor at Nickle Plate, N&W and Norfolk & Southern Railways in Ohio and Indiana. He was a sheep farmer. He served in the Navy in the South Pacific in World War II on LST Ship 1084. He was a former member of the Christie United Methodist Church, Spencerville, and a member of the First Baptist Church, Lima. He was a life member of the Harry J. Reynolds VFW Post 6772, Spencerville. He was a 1944 graduate of Spencerville High School. He attended trade school at Norfolk, Va., and Carnege Tech, Pittsburg.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, the Revs. Richard P. Cook and John Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow at Spencerville Cemetery with graveside military rites by the Veterans of Foreign War and American Legion posts of Spencerville.
Calling is 1-4 and 6-8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Contributions can be made to First Baptist Church, the Coronary Care or the Oncology Care units of Saint Rita's Medical Center.
