Snow showers associated with an arctic front are moving through this morning, providing a quick accumulation of snowfall. With wind gusts between 30 and 40 mph, the snow showers combined with blowing snow are reducing visibility and creating challenging travel conditions. These conditions are most impactful on roads that are more rural and are aligned from north to south. Even after the snow ends, elevated winds will continue to blow snow into the early afternoon.
Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

An Arctic front will sweep east across the region between 5 AM and 9 AM. A few hours of snow showers and west wind gusts of 35 to 40 mph will occur with the frontal passage. While any accumulations will generally be a half inch or less, some challenging travel conditions may develop given, rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities, strong wind and cold temperatures. These conditions will impact the morning commute. Use caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

* WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 10 AM EST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. Wind chill values can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Irma Diegel
Irma J. Diegel, 78, 101 W. Walnut St., Mendon, died at 11:50 a.m. May 11, 2007, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
She was born April 29, 1929, in Auglaize County, to James and Mary Edith Vanover Osborne. On Feb. 22, 1948, she was married to Ganell P. Diegel, who died Oct. 5, 2005.
Surviving are two sons, Ganell P. Jr. (Deb), and Reid (Deana), both of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Patty (Myron) Hartings, Celina, Hazel (Michael) Franklin, Ansonia, and Julie (Tim) Oechsle, Green Folk, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Diane Diegel, Wapakoneta; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, James; two brothers, Jim and John Osborne; two sisters, Sara King and Carol Thompson; two half-brothers, Daniel Rogers Jr., and Samuel Rogers; and three half-sisters, Donna Hellman, Debra King and Diane Fowler.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of United Methoidst Church. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of the Bowersock Brothers Veterans of Foreign War Post 6772, Spencerville. She was a 1947 graduate of Mendon-Union High School.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Mendon, the Rev. Randy Christian. Burial is at Mendon Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
