Luedna Thaman
Former New Bremen resident Luedna Mary Thaman, 87, of Fair Haven Shelby County Home, Sidney, died at 3:35 p.m. Feb. 24, 2008, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Sidney.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1921, in Fort Loramie to Louis and Henrietta Bertke Schulze. On Oct. 4, 1947, she married Arthur A. Thaman, who died May 17, 2007.
Survivors are a son, John (Peg), Liberty, Ky.; three daughters, Rita (James) Schwieterman, Centerville, Ellen (Gene) Topp, New Bremen and Carrie (Richard) Rohrbaugh, Wapakoneta; two brothers, Albert(Rosemary) Schulze, Celina, and Louis (Joyce) Schulze, West Carrolton; two sisters, Odyne (Allen) Barlage, Fort Loramie, and Henrietta (Wilbur) Hoying, Anna; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Ernest Schultz; three sisters, Norma Schroeder, Agnes Barefoot and Veronica Homan; and a great-granddaughter.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer, New Bremen, and the St. Ann Alter Sodality of the church.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Mannebach officiating. Burial is at St. Michael's Cemetery, Fort Loramie.
Calling is 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home, New Bremen, and 9:30-10:10 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Consolation Shrine, Carey.
