Clara McDermitt
Clara Louise McDermitt, 80, of 14090 Glynwood-New Knoxville Road, St. Marys, died at 8:25 a.m. Aug. 27, 2008, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Washington Township, Auglaize County, to George and Sopia Vohs Clausing Jr. On May 8, 1948, she married Donald McDermitt, who died Dec. 20, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas (Pat), Celina, and Dave, St. Marys; a daughter Kathleen (Larry) Lunz, Uniopolis; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Deceased are a sister, Marie Nuss and an infant grandson.
She was a homemaker and she and her husband owned and operated Don's Paint and Body Repair Shop for 35 years in St. Marys. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, the Women's Guild of the church, the Rural Women's Club, and the Auglaize-Mercer Multiple Sclerosis Support Group.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys, the Rev. Judy Ball officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
